MOTHER'S LOVE

Hi, I’m Sam   Everything not always going my way is something else I’ve come to accept; weeks after my mum passed we were having our usual morning prayer and I had to ask a question that had been bothering me. I asked that, all the time my mum was sick I prayed to God for healing all the time and had faith as well, but in the end, mum died, was it that everyone that was praying for her, myself included didn’t have the right faith or our faith wasn’t strong or big enough or was it that God didn’t hear our prayer or just didn’t want to answer? My Dad's chaplain explained to me that morning that there’s something called The Sovereignty of God; that God can make a decision contrary to what we wanted and no matter what his decision was, it was always in our best interest whether we could see it or not. I wasn’t angry at God that Mum was no more, I was just confused. I learned early in life that God’s Will would be done at all times and that is why anytime I find myself in a tough sp...

MARCH BUSINESS CHAT with JENNIFER IBUCHIM IHUNDA

" Beauty is conceived, which brings out the aesthetic or experience of art and beauty is a primary bridge, to me it signifies the real representation of anything that anyone holds to be beautiful "  - Jennifer, founder of Jenny's Beauty Lounge How are you doing lately and hope you had a good day? I’m doing well, I had a good and stressful day but we thank God   Can you tell me a little about your background and what exactly about your background that inspired you to start a business? While growing up I’ve always loved anything that concerns beauty and I love to try new things as long as there’s money in it, most times I literally sleep on people’s pages or YouTube channels trying to see how it goes and then after trying other businesses and moving to a new town which I'm not used to, I studied the environment and got to find out that the people here love anything that brings out their beauty which took me back to my first love which is beauty (makeup) but inst...

THE GIFT OF FRIENDSHIP

Hi, I’m Sam,   "No man is an island" I have never been able to relate this quote or saying to family relationships, I always subconsciously relate it to relationships formed outside of family ties but thinking about it now, it works for every kind of relationship we form or have. Everyone needs someone all the time, maybe not physically but we do. No one has survived alone, in as much as there are things we would rather do on our own or things that we need to handle on our own.

DUE RESPECT

Hi, I’m Sam, Everyone deserves respect! Your first instinct as a human interacting with another human should be to give respect and sometimes even in the face of disrespect, still show respect. Showing respect says more about you than the person receiving the respect. Most times it places you at a level where even your words can't place you. Show respect to the extent that even someone who can't stand you cannot deny the fact that you respect everyone.

ME + SCHOOL (1)

Hi, I’m Sam,

JUST KEEP MAKING ART

 Hi, I'm Sam,  It is very important to keep at the back of your mind that a lot of things we do in life are only subjective to others. Just like you can't like everything you see or everyone you meet, that is also the way it translates to us. A lot of us feel bad when someone can't seem to like us or anything we've done but want to reserve their right to like and dislike things; do you see how that doesn't make sense? We scroll through social media giving our unsolicited opinions on people's fashion, products, ideas, and lives but we feel bad and complain when people do the same to us. There's a line between constructive criticism and borderline hate or craziness;

INTERVIEW: How Important Is Art?

Hi, I’m Sam and welcome to another interview session with Maduako Chioma Judith, An Artist, Founder of F.A.W Place (Food, Art, and Wine) and one of the best Sip n Paint curators in Nigeria. Let’s dive in! INTERVIEW – ART BY JUDITH

SHOW ME YOU LOVE ME; DON'T TELL ME.

Hi, I'm Sam, Well, I don't think anyone initially goes through life thinking they're not loved, a couple or more things may have made them start to think that way and in most cases, if not all comes down to action; how people act towards us or things we can't get ourselves to do or stop doing; just like God showed us love by sending his only son to die for our sins (John 3:16). Often you hear people say "Show me that you love me" and not "Tell me you love"; words of assurance is still very much valid but it only holds water for individuals who keep and stand by their word and not for people who say one thing and do the other and of course before you can tell if someone would keep their words the person must've shown you through actions that they do.

MY BASIC FOUNDATION

Hi, I'm Sam, It is normal for every Christian to have a base scripture; although the passages change with inspiration from the Holy Spirit during different seasons of your life; it is not compulsory but I do think it is very necessary. Your base scripture is how your Christian journey is shaped and helps you make decisions and know how best to interact with God especially, then with your interaction with people, whether someone of similar faith or not.

FROM RUNWAYS TO REALITY: Nigerian Fashion Challenges and Opportunities

I n sharp contrast to the Western modeling landscape, Nigeria, like many other African countries, has yet to attach a direct value to this profession. Despite regularly delivering amazing clothes, fashion creatives, entrepreneurs, style strategists, and designers frequently lack the finances to fairly reward fashion models for their efforts. For most models, it is best defined as a "work very hard, earn very little" scenario.

CASTING A WIDER NET: The Art of Scouting Models in the Global Fashion Industry

In the dynamic world of fashion, we have witnessed the ascent and descent of numerous brands, each fueled by a burning desire to see their designs grace international runways or adorn the shelves of prestigious boutiques worldwide. While flamboyance might catch the eye, it's the meticulous attention to detail woven into each piece of fabric that transforms it into a meticulously crafted work of art. To carve their place in this competitive arena, fashion designers and house owners must prioritize every crucial step on their journey to the top. Beyond crafting awe-inspiring designs, they recognize the pivotal role played by casting directors –

PARENTHOOD, A JOINT VENTURE

In the journey of nurturing and raising our children, we often find ourselves at a crossroads where the roles of each parent are not equally acknowledged or embraced. It's a true reality that child training has historically been perceived as the responsibility of mothers, leaving fathers to be providers without fully engaging in the crucial aspects of upbringing. The repercussions of this disparity are profound.
